Στην Ευρώπη, η ΕΟΚΕ διατηρεί σχέσεις με τους κοινωνικούς εταίρους και τις οργανώσεις της κοινωνίας των πολιτών (ΟΚΠ) στα Δυτικά Βαλκάνια, στην Ανατολική Γειτονία, στις χώρες της ΕΖΕΣ μέλη του ΕΟΧ (Ισλανδία, Λιχτενστάιν και Νορβηγία), καθώς και στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο.

Η επιτροπή παρακολούθησης «Δυτικά Βαλκάνια» –μόνιμο εσωτερικό όργανο της ΕΟΚΕ– αποτελεί το κύριο μέσο για τον συντονισμό των δραστηριοτήτων της ΕΟΚΕ στην περιοχή. Το Φόρουμ της κοινωνίας των πολιτών των Δυτικών Βαλκανίων, το οποίο διεξάγεται κάθε δύο χρόνια, εντάσσεται στο πλαίσιο του έργου της επιτροπής παρακολούθησης.

Η ΕΟΚΕ συνεργάζεται επίσης σε διμερές επίπεδο με τις χώρες των Δυτικών Βαλκανίων που ξεκίνησαν ενταξιακές διαπραγματεύσεις και με την Τουρκία, μέσω ειδικών οργάνων που έχουν συσταθεί βάσει συμφωνιών σύνδεσης μεταξύ των χωρών αυτών και της ΕΕ: στόχος αυτών των Μικτών Συμβουλευτικών Επιτροπών είναι η συμμετοχή των κοινωνικών εταίρων και των οργανώσεων της κοινωνίας των πολιτών στην παρακολούθηση των προενταξιακών και μεταρρυθμιστικών διαδικασιών ενόψει της πιθανής προσχώρησης στην ΕΕ. Κάθε όργανο αποτελείται από ίσο αριθμό μελών από την ΕΟΚΕ και τη χώρα εταίρο και συνήθως συνεδριάζει μία ή δύο φορές τον χρόνο.

Η ΕΟΚΕ έχει επίσης συστήσει επιτροπή παρακολούθησης «Ανατολική Γειτονία», ένα εσωτερικό όργανο αρμόδιο για την ενίσχυση των σχέσεων με την κοινωνία των πολιτών στις χώρες της περιοχής, δηλαδή την Αρμενία, το Αζερμπαϊτζάν, τη Λευκορωσία, τη Γεωργία, τη Μολδαβία και την Ουκρανία.

Οι κύριοι μηχανισμοί συνεργασίας με την Αρμενία, τη Γεωργία, τη Μολδαβία και την Ουκρανία είναι οι Πλατφόρμες της κοινωνίας των πολιτών που επιτρέπουν στις οργανώσεις της κοινωνίας των πολιτών από την ΕΕ και τη χώρα εταίρο να παρακολουθούν τη διαδικασία υλοποίησης των συμφωνιών της ΕΕ με τις εν λόγω χώρες και να καταρτίζουν συστάσεις προς τις αρμόδιες αρχές. Επιπλέον, η Ουκρανία και η Μολδαβία έγιναν υποψήφιες χώρες το 2022.

Όσον αφορά τη Λευκορωσία και τη Ρωσία, αναπτύσσονται σχέσεις με τις οργανώσεις της κοινωνίας των πολιτών που εξακολουθούν να λειτουργούν ελεύθερα, οι περισσότερες από τις οποίες εδρεύουν στο έδαφος της ΕΕ. Η ΕΟΚΕ θεωρεί σημαντικό να διατηρηθεί ζωντανός ο διάλογος, εν αναμονή καλύτερων συνθηκών στο μέλλον.

Ο Ευρωπαϊκός Οικονομικός Χώρος (ΕΟΧ), συγκεντρώνει τα κράτη μέλη της ΕΕ και τις τρεις χώρες της ΕΖΕΣ μέλη του ΕΟΧ (Ισλανδία, Λιχτενστάιν και Νορβηγία) σε μια εσωτερική αγορά όπου τα αγαθά, οι υπηρεσίες, το κεφάλαιο και τα πρόσωπα μπορούν να κυκλοφορούν ελεύθερα. Η ΕΟΚΕ αποτελεί μέρος της Συμβουλευτικής Επιτροπής του Ευρωπαϊκού Οικονομικού Χώρου, όπου συζητούνται θέματα κοινού ενδιαφέροντος με εκπροσώπους των κοινωνικών εταίρων από τις χώρες της ΕΖΕΣ μέλη του ΕΟΧ.

Τέλος, η ΕΟΚΕ διαθέτει επιτροπή παρακολούθησης «ΕΕ-Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο» αρμόδια για την παρακολούθηση της σχέσης μεταξύ της ΕΕ και του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας και της Βόρειας Ιρλανδίας από τη σκοπιά της κοινωνίας των πολιτών. Το έργο της επικεντρώνεται ιδίως στην εφαρμογή της συμφωνίας αποχώρησης ΕΕ-Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου και του πρωτοκόλλου για την Ιρλανδία και τη Βόρεια Ιρλανδία, επί των οποίων βρίσκεται σε διαρκή συζήτηση με οργανώσεις της κοινωνίας των πολιτών από το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, καθώς και στην εφαρμογή της συμφωνίας εμπορίου και συνεργασίας (ΣΕΣ) ΕΕ-Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, επί της οποίας η επιτροπή παρακολούθησης «ΕΕ-Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο» συνεργάζεται με την εσωτερική συμβουλευτική ομάδα της ΕΕ στο πλαίσιο της ΣΕΣ ΕΕ-Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου.

  • Fifth EU DAG meeting under the TCA

    The 5th meeting of the EU DAG set up under the EU-UK TCA was dedicated to the assessment of the first year of DAG work -including the recent EU-UK Civil Society Forum, to an update on the Trade Specialised Committees and to a structured discussion of selected issues and recommendations with a DG TRADE representative.

  • 6th Joint meeting of the EU-Ukraine Domestic Advisory Groups

    Representatives of the European and Ukrainian Domestic Advisory Groups (DAGs), set up under the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine, held their sixth joint meeting on 26 January 2023. The objective of the meeting was to prepare a set of recommendations for the EU-Ukraine Trade and Sustainable Development Sub-Committee and the Civil Society Forum, which will take place in March 2023.

  • 10th meeting of the EU-Georgia Civil Society Platform

    The 10th meeting of the EU-Georgia Civil Society Platform (CSP) was convened on 16 December 2022. During the meeting, a debate focused on assessing the implementation of the 12 priorities identified by the EU and the state of play of the implementation of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement/DCFTA. The Platform also discussed the implementation of the Chapter 16 on Education, training and youth. 

    A joint declaration, prepared by both sides, was discussed and adopted.

  • REX December Section meeting on EU-UK relations

    The upcoming meeting of the Section for External Relations, which will take place on 20 December 2022, will be dedicated to EU-UK relations. The EU-UK Follow-up Committee was set up in March 2021 primarily to maintain and strengthen relations between UK and EU civil society organisations, and to monitor implementation of the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement.

     

  • 12th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Civil Society Platform

    The 12th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Civil Society Platform took place on 1 December 2022. During the meeting, a debate was held on the enhancement of Ukraine's integration into the EU, as well as the needs and challenges for Ukraine today and in the post-war reconstruction, with special focus on energy, social aspects and critical infrastructure. A joint declaration, prepared by both sides, was discussed and adopted.

  • 7th joint meeting of the EU-Georgia Domestic Advisory Groups

    Representatives of the European and Georgian Domestic Advisory Groups (DAGs), set up under the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Georgia, held their seventh joint meeting on 29 November 2022 in Brussels. The objective of the meeting was to prepare a set of recommendations for the EU-Georgia Trade and Sustainable Development Sub-Committee and the Civil Society Forum, which took place in December 2022.

  • 10th meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform

    The 10th meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform took place in Chisinau, Moldova, on 10 November 2022. During the meeting, a debate focused on assessing the progresses of Moldova in the implementation of the European Commission recommendations regarding its accession to the EU, as well as the state of play of the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement.

    The Platform also discussed the 2022 developments in the anti-corruption field, the impact of regional and global crises on the social-economic situation in Moldova, and participation of the Trade Unions and Employers' Associations in EU-funded projects.

    A joint declaration, prepared by both sides, was discussed and adopted.

  • Fourth EU DAG meeting under the TCA

    At this 4th meeting of the EU DAG set up under the TCA, the discussion focused on practical aspects as well as the preparations for the 1st DAG-to-DAG meeting (joint meeting of the EU and UK DAGs) and the 1st Civil Society Forum, that took place on October 3rd and 4th respectively.
