EESO v Evropi vzdržuje odnose s socialnimi partnerji in organizacijami civilne družbe na Zahodnem Balkanu, v vzhodnem sosedstvu ter državah Efte, ki so del EGP (Islandija, Lihtenštajn, Norveška) ter v Združenem kraljestvu.

Spremljevalni odbor za Zahodni Balkan, ki je stalni notranji organ EESO, je glavni instrument za usklajevanje dejavnosti EESO v tej regiji. Med dejavnosti spremljevalnega odbora sodi forum civilne družbe Zahodnega Balkana, ki poteka vsaki dve leti.

EESO sodeluje tudi dvostransko z državami Zahodnega Balkana, ki so začele pristopna pogajanja, in s Turčijo, in sicer prek specializiranih organov, ustanovljenih na podlagi pridružitvenih sporazumov med temi državami in EU: cilj teh skupnih posvetovalnih odborov je vključiti socialne partnerje in organizacije civilne družbe v spremljanje predpristopnih in reformnih procesov za morebitno članstvo v EU. Vsak organ je sestavljen iz enakega števila članov iz EESO in partnerske države ter se običajno sestane enkrat ali dvakrat na leto.

EESO je ustanovil tudi spremljevalni odbor za vzhodno sosedstvo, ki je notranji organ za krepitev odnosov s civilno družbo v državah v tej regiji, tj. v Armeniji, Azerbajdžanu, Belorusiji, Gruziji, Moldaviji in Ukrajini.

Glavni mehanizmi sodelovanja z Armenijo, Gruzijo, Moldavijo in Ukrajino so platforme civilne družbe, ki organizacijam civilne družbe iz EU in partnerskih držav omogočajo spremljanje izvajanja sporazumov teh držav z EU in pripravo priporočil ustreznim organom. Ukrajina in Moldavija sta leta 2022 postali tudi državi kandidatki.

Odnosi z Belorusijo in Rusijo se razvijajo s tistimi organizacijami civilne družbe, ki še vedno delujejo svobodno in imajo večinoma sedež na ozemlju EU. EESO meni, da je med čakanjem na boljše pogoje v prihodnosti pomembno ohranjati dialog.

Evropski gospodarski prostor (EGP) na skupnem trgu, na katerem veljajo ista osnovna pravila, združuje države članice EU ter tri države EGP-EFTA (Islandija, Lihtenštajn in Norveška). EESO je del posvetovalnega odbora za Evropski gospodarski prostor, v katerem s predstavniki socialnih partnerjev iz držav EFTA, ki so del EGP, razpravlja o vprašanjih skupnega interesa.

EESO ima tudi spremljevalni odbor EU-Združeno kraljestvo, ki je pristojen za spremljanje odnosov med EU in Združenim kraljestvom Velike Britanije in Severne Irske z vidika civilne družbe. Njegovo delo se osredotoča zlasti na izvajanje sporazuma o izstopu med EU in Združenim kraljestvom ter Protokola o Irski in Severni Irski, o katerih trenutno razpravlja z organizacijami civilne družbe iz Združenega kraljestva, ter na izvajanje sporazuma o trgovini in sodelovanju med EU in Združenim kraljestvom, v zvezi s katerim spremljevalni odbor EU-Združeno kraljestvo sodeluje z notranjo svetovalno skupino EU v okviru tega sporazuma.

    Representatives of the two Domestic Advisory Groups (DAG) from the EU and Moldova, established under Chapter 13 on Trade and Sustainable Development (TSD) of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, held the sixth joint meeting via video conference on 16 February 2022.

  • At this 2nd meeting of the EU DAG set-up under the TCA, members assessed TCA implementation looking back at the first year since it came into force.

  • The EU Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) set up under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation agreement to advise on the implementation of the agreement, held its constitution meeting Thursday 25 November. It elected its Presidency team with Tanja Buzek (Trade Unions - EESC) as Chair and two Vice-Chairs, Luisa Santos (Employers – BusinessEurope) and Tina Blohm (NGOs - Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung).

  • The 8th meeting of the EU-Georgia Civil Society Platform (CSP) was convened on 13 December 2021 via a videoconference. 

  • Representatives of the European and Georgian Domestic Advisory Groups (DAGs), set up under the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Georgia, held their 6th joint meeting virtually on 2 December 2021. 

  • The EEA CC adopted resolutions on the following topics: "Global Agreement on Minimum Effective Taxation and its Implementation in the EEA " and "The Action Plan to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights".

  • EU-Turkey JCC

    The EU-Turkey Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee established in 1995 is composed of members from the EESC and members representing organised civil society in Turkey. Its objective is to contribute to the dialogue among civil society organisations in Turkey and the EU and to issue reports and recommendations to the Turkish authorities and the EU institutions. The JCC discusses a wide range of topics, including cooperation between Turkey and the EU in various areas such as migration, energy, small and medium-sized enterprises and vocational training. This meeting will focus on "Disaster management - How can Turkey and the EU work together?" and "The Green Economy" - as well as other topics such as the "modernisation of the EU-Turkey Customs Union".
