The EU-Brazil Round Table

The 2nd EU-Brazil Summit in 2008 gave the EESC and the Economic and Social Development Council of Brazil (CDES) the mandate to create a Civil Society Round Table, made up of 12 members from each party. The Round Table meets every year.

The CDES was created in 2003 and its structure is based on the EESC model. EESC-CDES relations are based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed in July 2003 for promoting the exchange of information and good practice.
