Azija ir Ramiojo vandenyno šalys

EESRK palaiko ryšius su šių Azijos šalių pilietinės visuomenės organizacijomis: Kinijos, Japonijos, Singapūro, Pietų Korėjos ir Vietnamo.

Vyksta oficialios apskritojo stalo diskusijos su Kinija: jos buvo pradėtos 2007 m. po  9-ojo ES ir Kinijos aukščiausiojo lygio susitikimo ir yra rengiamos kartą per metus.

2009 m. vasario mėn. su Japonija įsteigtas tęstinio darbo komitetas, kurio tikslas – stebėti ES ir Japonijos santykius iš pilietinės visuomenės perspektyvos ir skatinti EESRK ir Japonijos verslo, darbuotojų, aplinkos apsaugos ir vartotojų organizacijų bei kitų svarbių pilietinės visuomenės organizacijų bendradarbiavimą. ES ir Japonijos vietos patarėjų grupė buvo įsteigta pagal ES ir Japonijos ekonominės partnerystės susitarimą, kuriame pagal prekybos ir darnaus vystymosi skyrių pilietinei visuomenei suteikiamas stebėsenos ir patariamasis vaidmuo.

Laisvosios prekybos susitarimus ES yra sudariusi su šiomis Azijos šalimis: Pietų Korėja (2011 m.), Japonija (2019 m.), Singapūru (2019 m.) ir Vietnamu (2020 m.). Šie susitarimai pasižymi tuo, kad į juos yra įtraukti prekybos ir darnaus vystymosi skyriai ir jie suteikia EESRK, o taip pat ir šalių partnerių pilietinės visuomenės organizacijoms, oficialų vaidmenį per vietos patarėjų grupes (VPG) stebėti susitarimų įgyvendinimą ir patarti atitinkamoms politinės valdžios institucijoms aplinkosaugos, socialinių ir darbo teisės standartų klausimais bei kitose srityse, kurios yra tiesiogiai susijusios su pilietine visuomene. Kasmet rengiami du–trys ES VPG posėdžiai, o kartą per metus – bendras posėdis.

Be to, EESRK palaiko ir ad hoc ryšius su pilietine visuomene ir kitose Azijos šalyse, vyksta kontaktai ir atitinkamuose tarptautiniuose renginiuose.

  • Meeting of the EU-Japan Follow-up Committee

    The EESC EU-Japan Follow-up Committee met the morning of 17 July. Items for discussion on the agenda were: the EU-Japan Relations in the post COVID-19 era and  Research and innovation. In addition to this, the Follow-up Committee assessed the current mandate period and reflected on future perspectives.

  • 3rd meeting of the EU DAG under the EU-Japan EPA

    During the meeting, the members of the Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) of the EU - composed of representatives of employers' organisations, trade unions and various interest groups -  followed up on the joint meetings with the Japanese counterparts that took place in Tokyo in January this year. They also discussed the work programme of the EU DAG and topics for future cooperation and dialogue.  Additionally, the members of the EU DAG exchanged views with representatives of the European Commission on matters related to the implementation of the trade and sustainable development chapter of the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

    During the meeting, the composition of the presidency was confirmed. The Group discussed its mandate, and proposed topics ahead of the 2019 Civil Society Forum.     The 14th EU-China Civil Society Round Table took place in Brussels on 18 and 19 May 2016. Topics set up for discussion during this meeting of the Round Table were Innovation and economic development in rural areas, and Infrastucture and investment, in the framework of the One Belt One Road initiative and the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The aim of the discussions was to find common ground and exchange ideas and best practices.
