Ázsia és a Csendes-óceán térsége

Ázsiában az EGSZB kínai, japán, szingapúri, dél-koreai és vietnámi civil társadalmi szervezetekkel tart fenn kapcsolatot.

Kínával civil társadalmi kerekasztal működik: 2007-ben, a 9. EU–Kína csúcstalálkozót követően alakult meg, és évente egyszer ül össze.

Japánnal 2009 februárjában nyomonkövetési bizottság alakult az EU–Japán kapcsolatok civil társadalmi dimenziójának nyomon követésére, valamint az EGSZB és a japán üzleti, munkavállalói, környezetvédelmi és fogyasztói szervezetek és más jelentős civil társadalmi szervezetek közötti együttműködés előmozdítására. Az EU–Japán gazdasági partnerségi megállapodás keretében – amely a kereskedelemmel és fenntartható fejlődéssel foglalkozó fejezetében nyomonkövetési és tanácsadói szerepet ruház a civil társadalomra – létrejött egy EU–Japán belső tanácsadó csoport.

Az EU a következő ázsiai országokkal kötött szabadkereskedelmi megállapodásokat: Dél-Korea (2011), Japán (2019), Szingapúr (2019) és Vietnám (2020). E megállapodások közös vonása, hogy tartalmaznak egy, a kereskedelemről és a fenntartható fejlődésről szóló fejezetet, és az EGSZB és más civil társadalmi szervezetek – valamint a partnerországok civil társadalmi szervezetei – számára a belső tanácsadó csoportokon keresztül hivatalos szerepet biztosítanak a megállapodás végrehajtásának nyomon követésében, illetve a megfelelő politikai hatóságok számára történő tanácsadásban a környezetvédelmi, szociális és munkaügyi normák és egyéb, a civil társadalom szempontjából közvetlen fontossággal bíró kérdések tekintetében. Az uniós belső tanácsadó csoportok évente két-három ülést tartanak, és évente egyszer együttes ülésre kerül sor.

Az EGSZB emellett együttműködik más ázsiai országok civil társadalmával is, és eseti alapon részt vesz a vonatkozó nemzetközi rendezvényeken.

  • Meeting of the EU-Japan Follow-up Committee

    The EESC EU-Japan Follow-up Committee met the morning of 17 July. Items for discussion on the agenda were: the EU-Japan Relations in the post COVID-19 era and  Research and innovation. In addition to this, the Follow-up Committee assessed the current mandate period and reflected on future perspectives.

    During the meeting, the members of the Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) of the EU - composed of representatives of employers' organisations, trade unions and various interest groups -  followed up on the joint meetings with the Japanese counterparts that took place in Tokyo in January this year. They also discussed the work programme of the EU DAG and topics for future cooperation and dialogue.  Additionally, the members of the EU DAG exchanged views with representatives of the European Commission on matters related to the implementation of the trade and sustainable development chapter of the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

    During the meeting, the composition of the presidency was confirmed. The Group discussed its mandate, and proposed topics ahead of the 2019 Civil Society Forum.     The 14th EU-China Civil Society Round Table took place in Brussels on 18 and 19 May 2016. Topics set up for discussion during this meeting of the Round Table were Innovation and economic development in rural areas, and Infrastucture and investment, in the framework of the One Belt One Road initiative and the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The aim of the discussions was to find common ground and exchange ideas and best practices.
