De Europese Economische Ruimte (EER) verenigt de EU-lidstaten en de drie EER-EVA-staten (IJsland, Liechtenstein en Noorwegen) in een interne markt waarin dezelfde basisregels gelden. Deze regels hebben als doel het vrije verkeer van goederen, diensten, kapitaal en personen in de EER mogelijk te maken, in een open en concurrerende omgeving. De Overeenkomst betreffende de Europese Economische Ruimte is op 1 januari 1994 in werking getreden.

Het Raadgevend Comité van de Europese Economische Ruimte (RC-EER) maakt deel uit van de EER-overeenkomst (artikel 96) en is in 1994 opgericht.

    The 24th meeting of of the European Economic Area Consultative Committee took place in Vaduz (Liechtenstein) on 19-20 May 2016.

     

    The members of the Committee discussed the latest developments in EEA and well as EU/EFTA issues. The Consultative Committee adopted two resolutions on the following topics:

    • Labour Mobility in the EEA
    • Better regulation to support businesses and protect workers in the EEA
