The members of the Committee discussed the latest developments in EEA as well as EU/EFTA issues. The Consultative Committee adopted two resolutions on:
- the social aspects of the Mobility Package ("Europe on the move")
- the work-life balance
Det Europæiske Økonomiske Samarbejdsområde (EØS) samler EU-medlemsstaterne og de tre EFTA‑lande, som indgår i EØS (Island, Liechtenstein og Norge), i et indre marked, som reguleres af de samme grundlæggende regler. Disse regler sigter mod at gøre det muligt for varer, tjenesteydelser, kapital og personer at bevæge sig frit i EØS inden for rammerne af et konkurrenceorienteret miljø. Aftalen om Det Europæiske Økonomiske Samarbejdsområde trådte i kraft den 1. januar 1994.
Det rådgivende udvalg for Det Europæiske Økonomiske Samarbejdsområde er en del af EØS-aftalen (artikel 96) og blev oprettet i 1994.
