A global perspective towards fostering a just transition in the agri-food sector: bridging generations for sustainable change

The aim of this event is to advance a just transition framework within the agri-food sector that addresses both environmental and social dimensions. The event seeks to foster collaboration between civil society organizations and policy experts to explore ways of achieving sustainable, low-carbon food systems that do not disproportionately impact farmers, food chain workers, or future generations. Additionally, it aims to ensure that the perspectives and needs of the Global South are included in these transition efforts, ultimately working towards an integrated approach to climate adaptation and mitigation in agri-food systems that is equitable and inclusive.

From Growth to Sufficiency: The Role of 'Cap and Share' and Other Policy Pathways for Justice and Sustainability in Climate Action

The event will explore how economic systems impact climate change and social justice, and will discuss sustainable alternatives to growth and consumption. The focus is on creating policies that prioritize governance, social justice, and culture to enhance human well-being. The event will also cover the "Cap and Share" strategy, a collaborative climate approach between the Global North and South, aimed at enabling the Global South to develop sustainably while strengthening cooperation and economic stability in the Global North.
