Meeting of EESC President with the Member of European Parliament, Maria João Rodrigues

On 7 April the President of EESC, Georges Dassis met with Maria João Rodrigues, Member of the European Parliament and rapporteur on the European Semester for economic policy coordination.

The President and Ms. Rodrigues, who was invited to speak at EESC's February Plenary Session, exchanged views on the current critical situation in Europe and agreed to work closely together on issues of common interest, promoting, in particular, appropriate European policies in crucial areas such as migration and the refugee crisis. Issues pertaining to the completion of the EMU and European integration were also examined.
