Europese Economische Ruimte

De Europese Economische Ruimte (EER) verenigt de EU-lidstaten en de drie EER-EVA-staten (IJsland, Liechtenstein en Noorwegen) in een interne markt waarin dezelfde basisregels gelden. Deze regels hebben als doel het vrije verkeer van goederen, diensten, kapitaal en personen in de EER mogelijk te maken, in een open en concurrerende omgeving. De Overeenkomst betreffende de Europese Economische Ruimte is op 1 januari 1994 in werking getreden.

Het Raadgevend Comité van de Europese Economische Ruimte (RC-EER) maakt deel uit van de EER-overeenkomst (artikel 96) en is in 1994 opgericht.

The 25th anniversary of the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement, in force since 1994, was the main topic of the EEA Consultative Committee meeting that took place on 23 and 24 May. This committee, which represents employers, workers and other civil society players of EEA member states, insisted on the importance of completing the internal market and taking into account its social dimension.

The 24th meeting of of the European Economic Area Consultative Committee took place in Vaduz (Liechtenstein) on 19-20 May 2016.

 

The members of the Committee discussed the latest developments in EEA and well as EU/EFTA issues. The Consultative Committee adopted two resolutions on the following topics:

  • Labour Mobility in the EEA
  • Better regulation to support businesses and protect workers in the EEA

The Consultative Committee adopted two resolutions on the Digitalisation and its impact on jobs and skills and the Social dimension of the EEA and the European Pillar of Social Rights.

The members of the Committee discussed the latest developments in EEA and well as EU/EFTA issues. The Consultative Committee aimed at adopting two resolutions on the renewable energies and economic competitiveness and the economic crisis and impact on gender equality in the EU

The members of the Committee discussed the latest developments in EEA and well as EU/EFTA issues. The Consultative Committee adopted two resolutions (available on the website soon) on:

  • the impact of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership on the EEA Agreement
  • investing in quality jobs for sustainable growth.
