The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.

Темпът на трансформацията към Енергийния съюз трябва да се ускори значително, за да постигнем целите на ЕС в областта на енергетиката и климата до 2050 г., но пренебрегването на социалното и икономическото положение в отделните държави членки би могло да бъде опасно, заявява ЕИСК в неотдавнашно становище.
ЕИСК подчертава, че ако не се отчитат социалните и икономическите условия в различните държави членки, това би могло да застраши социалното приемане на инвестициите и реформите, насочени към ускоряване на енергийния преход.
В становището, изготвено от Луц Рибе и прието на пленарната сесия през март, ЕИСК излага позицията си относно докладите за 2020 г. относно състоянието на енергийния съюз и оценката на националните планове в областта на енергетиката и климата (НПЕК), като заявява, че въпреки че целите в областта на енергетиката и климата до голяма степен са постигнати, това не би трябвало да стане основание за самодоволство.
Целите за следващите 30 години, считано от 2020 г., трябва да бъдат много по-амбициозни и действително да поставят хората в центъра на Енергийния съюз.
Г-н Рибе заяви: „Енергийната трансформация е застрашена ако политиците обещават на по-широки слоеве от обществото да участват, но в действителност не приемат сериозно това обещание и не го привеждат в изпълнение.“ (mp)
