This online public hearing will discuss how to transform the targets proposed in the Action Plan for the development of EU organic production into on-the-ground strategies related to organic production and consumption.
A grand civil society kick-off event will take place on 10 June from 14:30 to 18:30. The event, named "Conference on the Future of Europe - Bringing the European project back to citizens", will officially launch the activities of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in the framework of the Conference.

On 7 June 2021 the European Economic and Social Committee is organising a half-day virtual hearing in the framework of its opinion on Updating the new industrial strategy for Europe. The purpose of the hearing will be to contribute to the EESC opinion and to the debate on the policy priorities in terms of strategic autonomy and industrial transformation. The event will focus on topical questions such as industrial recovery from the pandemic crisis, Europe's competitiveness on the global stage and the transition to a green and digital economy. It will also explore the need for reconstruction and transformation of European industry and it will concentrate on the role of civil society organisations in designing the future of European industry.
The 10th edition of the ECI Day exceptionally took place online and over two days. 3 June was a full day of debates on the ECI instrument, focusing on aspects key to making the ECI more powerful and strengthening participatory democracy at EU level. On 4 June, the organisers of ongoing initiatives were given the floor to present their initiatives.
Hearing in the framework of the EESC opinion on Renewed partnership with the Southern Neighbourhood - A new Agenda for the Mediterranean
In order to prepare its opinion on the Commission's proposal on the "EU Disability Strategy 2021-2030", the EESC is organising a public hearing on 1 June 2021, from 9.30 am to 1 pm.
The aim of the event is to gather input from other EU Institutions, organisations representing persons with disabilities, social partners and other civil society organisations on the Commission's proposal. This input will feed into the EESC's opinion.
This EU Green Week partner event aims to take stock of the implementation of sustainable development policy in the EU and the intake of SDGs.
The Recovery and Resilience Facility is moving into its next phase, and the European Semester Group of the EESC is following the process. In this high-level conference we will discuss whether the national recovery and resilience plans will deliver as regards the aim of achieving fair, inclusive, competitive and sustainable growth and cohesion through the new growth strategy – the European Green Deal. Focus will be on the implementation of the national recovery and resilience plans, with particular attention on the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights and the just transition towards a green, digital and sustainable European economy. The conclusions of this event will be forwarded to EU institutions and the "EU Recovery Summit" conference in Lisbon on 28 June 2021.
The Strategy on the Rights of the Child and the Child Guarantee aim to provide better protection to children. The Strategy on the rights of the child focuses on six thematic areas, amongst which socioeconomic inclusion and combatting violence against children. The Child Guarantee aims to fight against child poverty and social exclusion by guaranteeing access to basic rights and services for children in need, amongst which healthcare and education.
The hearing aims to gather viewpoints on these initiatives, with the participation of organisations and other stakeholders working in the field.
