Η Ευρωπαϊκή Οικονομική και Κοινωνική Επιτροπή (ΕΟΚΕ) υποστηρίζει ευρέως τις νομοθετικές προτάσεις της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής για πιο αποτελεσματική και δίκαιη φορολόγηση και επαινεί τον συντονισμό τους σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο.
Στη γνωμοδότησή της που εγκρίθηκε από την Ολομέλειά της στις 24 Φεβρουαρίου, η ΕΟΚΕ υποστηρίζει πλήρως τη δέσμη μέτρων της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής για δίκαιη και απλή φορολόγηση. Σύμφωνα με τον εισηγητή της γνωμοδότησηςκ. Krister Andersson, οι εν λόγω προτάσεις θα πρέπει να συντονιστούν με τις συζητήσεις που διεξήχθησαν διεθνώς εντός του Πλαισίου χωρίς αποκλεισμούς του ΟΟΣΑ για τη διάβρωση της φορολογικής βάσης και τη μετατόπιση των κερδών (BEPS). «Αυτό αποτελεί τον βασικό παράγοντα για την επίτευξη παγκόσμιας συναίνεσης, αποφεύγοντας μονομερή μέτρα», εξήγησε κ. Andersson.
Η ΕΟΚΕ συμμερίζεται την άποψη ότι η επίτευξη δίκαιης και αποτελεσματικής φορολογίας είναι ακόμη πιο σημαντική την επαύριον της νόσου COVID-19. Στη γνωμοδότησή της, το συμβουλευτικό όργανο της ΕΕ παρουσιάζει το όραμά του για βασικά θέματα όπως η χρηστή φορολογική διοίκηση στην ΕΕ, η καταπολέμηση της φορολογικής απάτης και της φοροδιαφυγής, οι απαιτήσεις κοινοποίησης φορολογικών στοιχείων, ο ΦΠΑ στις χρηματοπιστωτικές υπηρεσίες, καθώς και οι κανόνες φορολόγησης και εργασίας στις ψηφιακές πλατφόρμες. Μεταξύ άλλων, η ΕΟΚΕ προτείνει τη σύναψη ενός ευρωπαϊκού συμφώνου για την αποτελεσματική πάταξη της φορολογικής απάτης, της φοροδιαφυγής, της φοροαποφυγής και της νομιμοποίησης εσόδων από παράνομες δραστηριότητες.
