The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Evropský hospodářský a sociální výbor (EHSV) obecně podporuje legislativní návrhy Komise týkající se efektivnějšího a spravedlivějšího zdanění a oceňuje jejich koordinaci na celosvětové úrovni.
Ve svém stanovisku přijatém na plenárním zasedání dne 24. února EHSV plně podpořil balíček Evropské komise pro spravedlivé a jednoduché zdanění. Zpravodaj stanoviska Krister Andersson uvádí, že tyto návrhy by měly být koordinovány s globálními diskusemi vedenými v OECD v rámci inkluzivního rámce pro řešení problému eroze základu daně a přesouvání zisku. „To je klíčové, pokud chceme dosáhnout celosvětového konsensu a vyhnout se jednostranným opatřením,“ dodal.
EHSV sdílí názor, že dosažení spravedlivého a účinného zdanění bude ještě důležitější v době po krizi COVID-19. Ve svém stanovisku poskytuje tento poradní orgán svou vizi klíčových témat, jako jsou řádná daňová správa v EU, boj proti daňovým podvodům a únikům, požadavky na oznamování daní, uplatňování DPH u finančních služeb a předpisy v oblasti daní a zaměstnanosti pro digitální platformy. Kromě jiného EHSV navrhuje evropský pakt pro účinný boj proti daňovým podvodům a daňovým únikům, vyhýbání se daňovým povinnostem a praní peněz. (na)
