The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.

En ny konstnärsgeneration sätter den biologiska mångfalden och naturen i centrum för sitt konstutövande. Onlineutställningen ”Biodiversity: artists take action” belyser kopplingen mellan människa och natur på ett helt unikt sätt. Den anordnas i samband med det franska rådsordförandeskapet och kommer att pågå 20 maj–20 juni 2022.
Den franska delegationen vid Europeiska ekonomiska och sociala kommittén har valt ut fem framstående unga konstnärer till detta konstprojekt på nätet i syfte att ge erkännande till deras arbete med att rikta uppmärksamhet mot och skapa debatt om dessa frågor.
Konstnärerna valdes ut bland de 21 mottagarna av priset ”Planète Art Solidaire”, vilket delades ut 2021 av den ideella organisationen Art of Change 21. Denna utställning som hålls helt online innehåller ett verk av varje konstnär, åtföljt av en förklaring från konstnären och en kort video i vilken konstnären talar om sitt arbete. (ck)
