  • Services of General interest for affordable and accessible housing

    All European residents should have the opportunity to access decent, affordable and accessible housing. This is why the EESC Permanent Group on Services of General Interest met and discussed in Warsaw on 6 March 2025 at a seminar during the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, co-organized by the EAPN Poland, the role of quality services of general interest in meeting needs in the field of housing.

  • The eighth meeting of the EU Domestic Advisory Group was held on 5 March 2025.

    During the meeting, the EU DAG received an update from the European Commission's DG TRADE on the implementation of the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, as well as information on the signature and conclusion of the EU-Singapore Digital Trade Agreement. In addition, DAG members received updates on the EU-Singapore relations from the EU Delegation to Singapore. The main objective of the meeting was to prepare the European side for the upcoming joint meeting with the Singapore DAG.

  • Driven by the lingering impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, a cost-of-living crisis is weighing heavily on citizens' lives across the EU. Its impact is felt hardest by vulnerable groups, accentuating pre-existing inequalities.

  • The EESC's Permanent Group on disability Rights is organising a hybrid public hearing on "Road to the Global Disability Summit: For a disability- inclusive development and humanitarian action" on 18 February 2025 from 9:30 am to 1 pm.

    During the event, we will discuss with relevant stakeholders existing good practices as well as obstacles to guarantee the inclusion of disability rights in development cooperation and humanitarian action

    Against the background of the upcoming EU Clean Industrial Deal, the  Workers' Group calls  for an ambitious industrial policy delivering on both decarbonisation and the creation of quality jobs through bold investments in innovation, upskilling, and social cohesion.

  • Final meeting under the Association Agreement

    The 13th and final meeting of the EU-Chile JCC under the 2002 Association Agreement marked a significant milestone in the EU-Chile partnership. This meeting served as an opportunity to reflect on past achievements and discuss the transition to the new Advanced Framework Agreement, which will reshape and strengthen cooperation between both parties.
