Din momentul încetării raporturilor de muncă în cadrul Comitetului Economic și Social European, înalții funcționari nu sunt autorizați în principiu să se angajeze timp de 12 luni în activități de lobby sau de reprezentare a foștilor lor colegi. CESE monitorizează activitățile externe ale foștilor săi înalți funcționari și publică în fiecare an un raport cu privire la această monitorizare.
