Hohen Beamten des Europäischen Wirtschafts- und Sozialausschusses ist es in den ersten zwölf Monaten nach ihrem Ausscheiden aus dem Dienst grundsätzlich verboten, im Bereich des Lobbying oder der Beratung in Bezug auf ehemalige Kollegen tätig zu werden. Der EWSA verfolgt die externen Tätigkeiten seiner ehemaligen hohen Beamten und veröffentlicht jedes Jahr einen entsprechenden Bericht.
