    EESRK su mėlynuoju kursu susijusį darbą pradėjo 2023 m. sausio mėn., o oficialus renginys „Atėjo metas ES mėlynajam kursui“ buvo surengtas 2023 m. vasario mėn. 2023 m. rugsėjo mėn. iniciatyva įgavo politinį pagreitį, kai EESRK ir Europos Parlamentas bendrai pasirašytame laiške ES valstybių ir vyriausybių vadovams paragino valstybes nares remti ir priimti plataus užmojo ES mėlynąjį kursą.
