Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στην ανάκαμψη της ΕΕ, την Ένωση Υγείας και την ψηφιοποίηση, σταθερή προσήλωση στην προάσπιση του κράτους δικαίου και εστίαση στο μέλλον της Ευρώπης: η ΕΟΚΕ επικροτεί αυτές τις πτυχές της φετινής ομιλίας για την κατάσταση της Ένωσης, οι οποίες συνάδουν με τις προτεραιότητές της.
Προτεραιότητα της ΕΟΚΕ παραμένει η υλοποίηση των μεταρρυθμίσεων που καθορίζονται στα εθνικά σχέδια ανάκαμψης και ανθεκτικότητας, με συνεκτίμηση των αναγκών των εργοδοτών, των εργαζομένων και της κοινωνίας των πολιτών εν γένει.
«Η μετουσίωση αυτών των μεταρρυθμίσεων σε απτές δράσεις θα καταστεί δυνατή μόνο με την πλήρη συμμετοχή της οργανωμένης κοινωνίας των πολιτών», δήλωσε η Christa Schweng, Πρόεδρος της ΕΟΚΕ.
Η ταχεία έρευνα, διαθεσιμότητα και διάθεση των εμβολίων κατά της νόσου COVID-19 έδειξε ότι η Ευρώπη παράγει αποτελέσματα. Μια πραγματική Ένωση Υγείας, όπως επισημάνθηκε από την Πρόεδρο της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής Ursula von der Leyen, αποτελεί μία από τις βασικές προτεραιότητες για την τρέχουσα θητεία της ΕΟΚΕ.
Όσον αφορά τις επενδύσεις στις τεχνολογίες του μέλλοντος, η ΕΟΚΕ τονίζει ότι η ΕΕ πρέπει να αναπτύξει το δικό της όραμα και τη δική της στρατηγική για ψηφιακή κυριαρχία, παραμένοντας ταυτόχρονα ανοικτή στο ελεύθερο εμπόριο και υποστηρίζοντας το πολυμερές σύστημα.
Η κ. Schweng χαιρετίζει επίσης τη σθεναρή στάση της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής όσον αφορά το κράτος δικαίου. Οφείλουμε να προασπίσουμε τις ευρωπαϊκές αξίες
Κατά τη γνώμη της ΕΟΚΕ, η μελλοντική επιτυχία του οικονομικού και κοινωνικού μοντέλου της Ευρώπης θα εξαρτηθεί σε μεγάλο βαθμό από την ικανότητά μας να συνεργαζόμαστε και να συμπράττουμε με τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο, από τους πλησιέστερους γείτονές μας, όπως τα Δυτικά Βαλκάνια, έως και άλλους γεωπολιτικά στρατηγικούς εταίρους.
