Il-Konferenza dwar in-Nisa fis-Suq tax-Xogħol organizzata mill-KESE biex ifakkar il-Jum Internazzjonali tan-Nisa saret fit-8 ta’ Marzu fid-dell tal-gwerra. Il-parteċipanti sellmu lin-nisa Ukreni rimarkabbli għas-saħħa, il-qlubija u r-reżiljenza tagħhom.
Fid-diskors inawgurali tagħha, il-President tal-KESE Christa Schweng irreferiet għan-nisa u l-bniet Ukreni li qegħdin jiġu kostretti jitilqu minn pajjiżhom u dan jitfagħhom f’riskju ogħla ta’ vjolenza.
Bl-istess ħsieb, il-President tal-Grupp ad hoc dwar l-Ugwaljanza u membru tal-KESE, Maria Nikolopoulou, enfasizzat: “In-nisa, l-ommijiet, il-konjuġi jinsabu mwaħħlin f’żona ta’ gwerra, ħafna mnnhom qegħdin isiru suldati huma stess, oħrajn qegħdin jippruvaw jaħarbu mill-atroċitajiet tal-attakki. Nagħqdu leħinna mas-soċjetajiet ċivili li qegħdin jappellaw biex il-gwerra tieqaf, fil-pajjiżi kollha”.
Il-pandemija tal-COVID-19 kompliet twessa’ d-disparità bejn il-ġeneri fl-impjiegi u kkontribwixxiet ukoll għal żieda fil-vjolenza u l-fastidju fuq il-post tax-xogħol.
Il-Kummissarju għall-Ugwaljanza, Helena Dalli, ħabbret li l-Kummissjoni Ewropea ser tippreżenta proposta għal direttiva dwar il-ġlieda kontra l-vjolenza fuq in-nisa u l-vjolenza domestika li għandha tkun vinkolanti fl-Istati Membri kollha.
Fir-rigward tas-settur tal-intelliġenza artifiċjali, in-nisa jikkostitwixxu biss 16 % tal-forza tax-xogħol, u dan ifisser li 84 % tal-irġiel jieħdu d-deċiżjonijiet kollha u t-tmexxija. “Jekk in-nisa jkunu assenti minn dawn is-setturi, dan ifisser li d-dinja l-ġdida kollha tagħna ser tissawwar mill-irġiel, bil-preġudizzju possibbli tagħhom”, qalet is-Sinjura Schweng.
