Dear Readers,
The European Year of Youth 2022is a strong message of care to Europe's young generation. The EESC and the Liaison Group with civil society organisations are particularly interested by the focus of the year, as they are well placed to pass on the messages of youth organisations and to possibly influence EU policies.
This European Year should be an occasion to shift paradigm and genuinely honour, support and engage with young people and their organisations, to mobilise action that will have positive impact on their future. We need to go beyond a mere "communication" exercise. 2022 must lead to concrete and lasting outcomes for all young Europeans. We need to reach out to marginalised young people and improve the way we include young people in general in policy and decision-making.
