Exhibition creators

The exhibition was conceptualised, coordinated and organised by Friends of the Earth Europe. The photographs and audio recordings were made by Miriam Strong.

Friends of the Earth is the largest grassroots environmental network in Europe, uniting more than 30 national organisations with thousands of local groups. Its Brussels office coordinates its network’s joint campaigns and pushes for action by the EU to protect people and planet. Friends of the Earth Europe is the European arm of Friends of the Earth International, a global federation uniting over 70 national member organisations, some 5 000 local activist groups and over two million supporters around the world.

Miriam Strong, hailing from New Zealand with Pacific Islander heritage, began her career as a photographer, focusing on lifestyle, portraiture and documentary work. Her transition into filmmaking stemmed from her desire to explore issues beyond the confines of single images. She has directed two documentary shorts and currently resides in London, where she continues to pursue her passion for storytelling through film and photography.
