Background
The single market of the European union is celebrating its 30th birthday in 2023. This opinion will provide EESC's views on the achievements, best practices and future needs for developing the single market, especially in terms of digitalisation. During the pandemic, it became evident that digitalisation played a central role in our societies. This opinion will therefore analyse how to fully exploit the potential of the digital single market and how deepening the digitalisation of the single market can boost growth and well-being for Europeans and EU companies.
