Corruption in public procurement and its impact on the internal market

This page is also available in

Background

The rule of law is crucial for a well-functioning internal market. Corruption and the lack of rule of law undermine the mutual trust that is underpinning the internal market. This own-initiative opinion should contribute to bringing attention to how challenges to the rule of law affect the internal market and in particular public procurement. The opinion is in line with the EESC's political priority to strengthen the rule of law and fundamental rights.
