2026 European Semester – Spring Package

Every year, in February and October, the EESC adopts two opinions related to the European Semester cycle. This year, the EESC adopted the opinion "2026 European Semester - Autumn package" on 18 February 2026.The Committee adopts a second opinion in October, taking into account the economic developments throughout the year and providing a timely contribution to the next cycle.

The European Semester is a continuous process that is becoming increasingly important, and the European Semester - Spring Package represents a key moment of the cycle, as it provides economic and fiscal guidance to the Member States. This opinion would allow the EESC to formulate recommendations for the next European Semester cycle, to assess the overall policy orientation set by the Commission, and to provide integrated and concrete recommendations covering critical economic, social and environmental aspects. The opinion would be presented for adoption at the EESC Plenary session in October 2026.
