The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

EHSV vyzývá Evropskou komisi, aby vypracovala komplexní plán na podporu oživení celého evropského letectví. Zároveň by měla vyčlenit zvláštní zdroje na podporu všech jeho pododvětví a pracovníků, kteří jsou v nich zaměstnáni. Výbor ve svém stanovisku přijatém na zářijovém plenárním zasedání, které připravil Thomas Kropp, uvádí, že je zapotřebí ambiciózní a koordinovaná politická reakce, která bude jasně rozlišovat mezi krátkodobou počáteční fázi oživení a nutností zajistit ve střednědobém až dlouhodobém horizontu mezinárodní konkurenceschopnost tohoto odvětví a rovné podmínky.
Jak uvedl Thomas Kropp během plenárního zasedání, „letectví sice již dříve procházelo různými krizemi, tato situace však nemá obdoby. Podle aktuálních odhadů dojde k plnému oživení tohoto odvětví nejdříve v roce 2024. Evropské orgány a další mezinárodní organizace dosud nezkoordinovaly regulační opatření tak, aby byly zavedeny mezinárodní normy. Letectví se netýká pouze leteckých společností, ale zahrnuje i jiné významné aktéry, jako například letiště, poskytovatele letových navigačních služeb, poskytovatele služeb pozemního odbavení a dalších služeb. Ty všechny musíme mít při hledání řešení na paměti.“
Obecně vzato musí Evropská komise hledat náležitou rovnováhu mezi opatřeními na podporu oživení a finančními požadavky, které vyplývají ze Zelené dohody pro Evropu. Zároveň by přitom neměla ukládat žádnou dodatečnou regulační zátěž, a to zejména ve fázi oživení, neboť celé toto odvětví je finančně nesmírně oslabeno.
