The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.

Ansökningar till partnerevenemangen kan skickas in 4–17 mars, och evenemangen äger rum 29 maj–1 september.
Varje år åtföljs EU:s gröna vecka i och utanför Europa av hundratals partnerevenemang som anordnas av olika institutioner, icke-statliga organisationer, näringslivsföreträdare, den akademiska världen, skolor samt lokala, regionala och nationella förvaltningar, m.fl.
Temat för 2024 års partnerevenemang kommer att vara vattenresiliens. Målet är att uppmuntra till en EU-omfattande diskussion om vattenfrågan i EU i dag och i framtiden, med tonvikt på att främja medvetenhet och positiva, samarbetsinriktade lösningar.
Alla typer av evenemang är välkomna, från workshoppar och offentliga diskussioner till utställningar och medvetandehöjande evenemang för familjer. Aktiviteterna kan äga rum på lokal, regional, nationell eller europeisk nivå. Mer information och en tidsplan hittar du här.
Eftersom en blå giv för EU är ett av EESK:s flaggskeppsinitiativ är valet av detta tema för partnerevenemangen ett bra tillfälle att informera om de förslag som lades fram i EU:s förklaring om den blå given från oktober 2023, där man efterlyser en ny och ambitiös vattenstrategi för Europa, i likhet med EU:s gröna giv.
