The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Bewerbungen für Partnerveranstaltungen, die zwischen dem 29. Mai und dem 1. September stattfinden sollen, können vom 4. bis 17. März eingereicht werden.
Jedes Jahr finden im Rahmen der Grünen Woche der EU Hunderte von Partnerveranstaltungen in ganz Europa und darüber hinaus statt, die von verschiedenen Institutionen, nichtstaatlichen Organisationen, Wirtschaftsvertretern, Hochschulen, Schulen, lokalen, regionalen und nationalen Verwaltungen sowie vielen weiteren Akteuren organisiert werden.
Das Thema der Partnerveranstaltungen lautet 2024 Wasserresilienz. Ziel ist es, einen EU-weiten Austausch zum Thema Wasserressourcen in der EU heute und in Zukunft anzustoßen. Der Schwerpunkt soll dabei auf der Sensibilisierung und der Förderung konstruktiver, gemeinsamer Lösungen liegen.
Alle Arten von Veranstaltungen – von Workshops und öffentlichen Debatten bis hin zu Ausstellungen und Sensibilisierungsveranstaltungen für Familien – sind willkommen. Die Aktivitäten können auf lokaler, regionaler, nationaler oder europäischer Ebene stattfinden. Weitere Informationen und einen Zeitplan finden Sie hier.
Da der europäische Blaue Deal eine Leitinitiative des EWSA ist, bietet die Wahl dieses Themas für die Partnerveranstaltungen eine gute Gelegenheit, die Vorschläge aus der im Oktober 2023 vorgelegten Erklärung zum europäischen Blauen Deal bekannt zu machen. Darin wird eine neue ehrgeizige Wasserstrategie für Europa gefordert, die dem europäischen Grünen Deal gleichwertig ist. (gb)
