The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.

Rubriigis „Otse asja kallale!“ tutvustame seekord Diandra Ní Bhuachallat, kes esindab Euroopa Majandus- ja Sotsiaalkomiteed noorteesindajana COPi tippkohtumistel 2023. ja 2024. aastal.
Diandra Ni Bhuachalla on komitee noorteesindaja COP28 ja COP29 delegatsioonis. Ta on ka Walesi tulevaste põlvkondade ameti ja VVO Foundations for Tomorrow tulevaste põlvkondade ülemaailmne saadik, UNESCO kestliku arengu eesmärgi nr 4 noorte ja üliõpilaste võrgustiku liige ning programmi "Common Futures Conversations" teadur Chatham House’is. Diandra oli aastatel 2021–2022 Iirimaa ÜRO noorteesindaja ning nüüd töötab ta Iirimaa riiklikus noortenõukogugas, koordineerides vastavalt ÜRO ja noorte kliimaesindaja programme. Ta on kohalikul, riiklikul ja rahvusvahelisel tasandil tegutsenud juba 12 aastat, keskendudes soolisele võrdõiguslikkusele, kvaliteetsele haridusele, kliimaõiglusele ning rahule ja julgeolekule. Diandral on bakalaureusekraad poliitikateadustes ja õigusteadustes ning magistrikraad rahvusvahelises avaliku sektori poliitikas ja diplomaatias Corki ülikoolist.
