On Saturday 9 May 2026, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) opens its doors to you in celebration of Europe Day! This special occasion marks the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, a defining moment that laid out the foundations of European unity and cooperation.

Join us at the JDE building (rue Belliard 99-101) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a unique opportunity to step inside the EESC and discover how it gives a voice to organised civil society across Europe. Meet the people behind the work, explore how opinions are shaped, and learn how dialogue helps build a stronger European Union. 

What to expect at the EESC Europe Day? 

From engaging discussions to interactive experiences, there’s something for everyone!

Explore and Discover 

  • Learn about the EESC’s role within the European Union and how it contributes to decision-making; 
  • Meet EESC Members and hear how organised civil society shapes EU policies; 
  • Discover the Committee’s priorities and key topics for 2026 at thematic stands throughout the building;
  • Join guided tours led by EESC Members and explore selected meeting spaces while learning about the Committee’s work and structure.

A Day of Dialogue and Discovery  

Engage directly with EESC Members and staff, ask questions, and gain insights into how inclusive dialogue helps shape Europe’s future. This is your chance to experience first-hand how civil society contributes to European democracy.

  • Kids’ Corner
    Join the kids corner for creative workshops activities, glitter tattoo stand and much more
