The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.

Den 12 mars kommer gruppen Mångfald Europa att hålla en konferens i hybridformat på temat Civilsamhällesorganisationerna under och efter covid-19: Vilka utmaningar och vilken framtid?. Vid evenemanget kommer man att lansera EESK:s studie ”The response of civil society organisations to the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent restrictive measures adopted in Europe” samt debattera aktuella frågor med talare på hög nivå och företrädare för det civila samhället.
I studien, som EESK beställt på begäran av gruppen Mångfald Europa, betonas civilsamhällesorganisationernas verksamhet för att hjälpa lokala samhällen och utsatta grupper att hantera pandemin. Kvantitativa och kvalitativa uppgifter om deras verksamhet presenteras med hjälp av fallstudier.
Författarna har använt en metod där de kombinerat skrivbordsundersökningar med en djupgående webbenkät. Studien lyfter fram viktiga frågor för civilsamhällesorganisationernas framtid, såsom bristen på stabila finansieringskanaler, rättsliga ramar och tillräckliga resurser och kompetenser, vilket kommer att kräva framtida reflektioner och djärva politiska beslut för att se till att civilsamhällesorganisationernas kapacitet bibehålls och stärks i återhämtningsfasen efter covid-19. Under konferensen kommer studiens författare att presentera sina viktigaste resultat och rekommendationer.
De efterföljande diskussionerna med talare på hög nivå och företrädare för det civila samhället kommer att inriktas på frågor som hur utsatta grupper har drabbats av pandemin, hur civilsamhällesorganisationerna har hjälpt dessa grupper, hur de har tagit initiativ för att se över hur de har hanterat krisen samt hur de kommer att bidra till återuppbyggnad och till hållbara samhällen efter covid-19.
