Recognizing sustainable finance as a critical element in the pursuit of sustainability, this event aims to explore the intersectionality between biodiversity conservation and climate finance, shedding light on their interdependencies, challenges, and opportunities and providing input to the EESC own-initiative opinions (A comprehensive strategy for biodiversity at COP16 and Climate finance).
During the meeting, the EU DAG discussed past and upcoming Civil Society Forums as well as the preparation of the intersessional meeting on the topic of platform work. It was likewise an opportunity for members to receive an update from DG Trade on the EU-Korea FTA and the implementation of the TSD Chapter. The EU DAG also exchanged views on the DAG's priorities for this mandate.
Innovation is indeed a key component of Belgium’s economy and its productivity, and has been encouraged and supported by several instruments and policy measures, be it at the federal or at the regional level. By showcasing best practices in fostering synergies between the private sector, businesses and the R&D community, the conference aims to present the Belgian example and discuss the situation in different EU Member States.
