So, what is the Europe we dream of?
First and foremost, it's a strong and more competitive Europe – a Europe that leads the world in the green and digital transitions while maintaining and enhancing prosperity for present and future generations.
Do not ask me what the EU will look like in 2040. Who would have predicted in 2007 that we would be in constant crisis? Even if one must be careful with the word crisis: how else can we call what happened with the banks, the eurozone, the refugees in 2015-2016, the pandemic or terrorism. So I've learned not to predict. But I can try to outline what the EU should look like, regardless of the circumstances.

The goal of the webinar was to look at the role of employers in training provision with a particular focus on training funds, and to explore the ways in which the content of training can be better aligned to labour market needs.

As we implement our exit strategies, we realise the magnitude of the economic, social and societal challenges we face, which are equal to the expectations citizens have of Europe. It is therefore the perfect moment for all Europeans to have their say in shaping the future of Europe.
The goal of the webinar was to take stock on how the need to support job creation, employment participation and job-to-job transitions has been addressed in the national Recovery and Resilience Plans and how Member States have decided to use the Commission Recommendation for Effective Active Support to Employment (EASE) to support these changes.

Reaction by Employers' Group President Stefano Mallia on the State of the Union speech: European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen has defended the achievements of her executive in delivering life-saving COVID19 vaccines for over 70% of the EU population and provide the resources from NextGenerationEU for a historic recovery plan. But we not out of the woods. Many businesses (especially SMEs) are still suffering and continue to struggle to regain confidence. Now that most of the countries have their Recovery and Resilience plans approved, it is time to act!
