The goal of the webinar was to look at the role of employers in training provision with a particular focus on training funds, and to explore the ways in which the content of training can be better aligned to labour market needs.

Reaction by Employers' Group President Stefano Mallia on the State of the Union speech: European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen has defended the achievements of her executive in delivering life-saving COVID19 vaccines for over 70% of the EU population and provide the resources from NextGenerationEU for a historic recovery plan. But we not out of the woods. Many businesses (especially SMEs) are still suffering and continue to struggle to regain confidence. Now that most of the countries have their Recovery and Resilience plans approved, it is time to act!
Lors de sa réunion extraordinaire de juillet, le groupe des employeurs a invité Janusz Wojciechowski, commissaire européen chargé de l’agriculture, à proposer une législation sur le numérique rural.
Une telle législation faciliterait le développement des technologies numériques dans l’agriculture et dans les zones rurales, améliorant ainsi l’efficacité de la politique agricole commune et soutenant les stratégies de l’Union européenne dans le cadre du pacte vert et de l’initiative intitulée «de la ferme à la table».
13 July 2021 – At last week's July plenary of the European Economic and Social Committee, the Employers' Group expressed the view that whilst the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan should serve as a useful guidance for Member States and the Union in their efforts towards competitiveness, growth, employment, structural reforms, productive investments and well-being of people, any such action must be taken at the right level of competence.
The Employers' Group of the European Economic and Social Committee welcomes the agreement to reshape international taxation rules to ensure a consensual system fit for the 21st century across the world.
The involvement of organised civil society and the EESC is crucial in ensuring the broad participation of citizens in the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE), highlighted Christa Schweng, president of the European Economic and Social Committee, at the inaugural Conference Plenary in Strasbourg on 19 June. Ms Schweng took part in the plenary along with a delegation of 18 EESC members.
