Management, conservation and control measures applicable in the Area covered under the Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA)

This proposal aims to transpose into EU law the measures adopted under the Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA) since 2016 and to set up a mechanism for implementing future measures. The EU currently has one active fishing vessel in the SIOFA’s area of application. 

Since the Committee unreservedly endorses the content of the proposal and feels that it requires no comment on its part, it decided to issue an opinion endorsing the proposed text.
