The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Šiame tinklalaidės epizode nagrinėjame besitęsiančią migracijos krizę Europoje. Neseniai Italijos ir Prancūzijos, kurios atsisakė leisti laivui „Ocean Viking“ įplaukti į jų uostus ir išlaipinti prie Libijos krantų išgelbėtus neteisėtus migrantus, sprendimais sukurta aklavietė vėl privertė atkreipti dėmesį į šią krizę. Kokia Europos migracijos politikos padėtis dabar? Kuo virto Europos solidarumas po 2015 m. sunkaus išbandymo Sirijos pabėgėlių krize? Kaip susidarė dabartinė situacija, kai pažeidžiami migrantai įstrigo teisiniu požiūriu „niekieno žemėje“?
Šį klausimą nagrinėsime ir atsakymų į jį ieškosime su Europos ekonomikos ir socialinių reikalų komiteto Darbuotojų grupės nariu, teisininku José Antonio Moreno Diaz, besispecializuojančiu migracijos ir prieglobsčio srityje, nevyriausybinės organizacijos „SOS Méditerranée“, eksploatuojančios laivą „Ocean Viking“, operacijų vadovo pavaduotoja Louise Guillaumat, kuri yra 2016 m. EESRK pilietinės visuomenės premijos laureatė, ir Šveicarijos transliuotojų korporacijos korespondentu Briuselyje Tomu Miglierina, specialistu migracijos srityje.
