The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.
The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.

The EU-UK Follow-Up Committee of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is pleased to announce that the Annual All-Island Stakeholder Forum will be held in Dublin on 10th June 2026. This forum is the second of its kind, the first having been held in Dundalk last year.
This year’s forum is titled: ‘Reset and Recharge: All-island contributions to a resilient EU-UK relationship’. It is organised in collaboration with an Advisory Group of representative organisations from the three ‘pillars’ of the EESC – workers, employers and civil society organisations – from both jurisdictions.*

The European Consumer Day is an annual event organised since 1999, which gives consumers a forum to discuss topical policy developments. Following-up to the highly acclaimed EESC opinion "Call for fair competition with regard to 3rd country platforms" adopted in September 2025, the topic of this year’s edition of the European Consumer Day was challenges related to e-commerce from third-country platforms seen from a broader economic and social perspective. The objective was to discuss potential far-reaching impact of the platforms' expansion on the EU economy and society as such and bring on board actors from all walks of life to advocate for a common cause.
