For the 13th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC). The JCC is a civil society platform established between the EESC and Montenegrin civil society. It complements with a civil society point of view the EU institutional framework related to the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and Montenegro. This joint institution allows civil society organisations on both sides to monitor the country's accession negotiations. It is also a platform to discuss issues of common interest and to inform the public at large on the challenges ahead during the accession period.

For the 11th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) in Podgorica, Montenegro.

This meeting tackled following issues:

  • Assessment of the state of play in Montenegro accession negotiations to the EU
  • Chapter 19 of the accession negotiations – Social policy and employment, with a special focus on the European Pillar of Social Rights
  • Chapter 2 of the accession negotiations – Free movement of workers
  • Overview of the Civil Society situation in Montenegro

  • The current state of play in EU-Montenegro relations and the accession process
  • The digitalization as a tool for social and economic development
  • Public administration reform
  • Overview of the civil society in Montenegro
  • State of the media sector in Montenegro
  • The Joint Declaration from the meeting was adopted

Les défis actuels et les perspectives pour les organisations d'employeurs dans la région des Balkans

The role of business and employers' organisations in Europe, the process of EU accession for the Balkan countries and the place of social dialogue in those countries – these will be the topics discussed at the Balkan Employers Round Table.

It will be a unique opportunity for employers' organisation representatives from the Balkan countries and EU Member States to engage in open discussion, exchange views and network to forge relations for the future.

The event is being held jointly by the Association of Employers of Slovenia and the European Economic and Social Committee's Employers' Group.

For the 8th time, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Montenegro held the Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) in Budva, Montenegro.

This meeting tackled following issues: Assessment of the state of play in Montenegro accession negotiations to the EU, Chapter 28 of the accession negotiations – with focus on Consumer protection and Debate on the situation of young people on the labour market.

- Chapter 5 - Public procurement

- The state of industrial relations and the development of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Montenegro

The External Relations Section (REX) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is responsible for dialogue between European civil society organisations and their homologues from the countries with which the European Union has formal relations (e.g. under the form of a Free Trade Agreement). Through this dialogue, made possible by a series of bilateral bodies, and through specialized opinions and information reports, the Committee is able to concretely contribute to EU foreign policy.
