The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

The EESC has six sections, specialising in concrete topics of relevance to the citizens of the European Union, ranging from social to economic affairs, energy, environment, external relations or the internal market.

Европейският зелен пакт неизбежно ще окаже въздействие върху нашите външни отношения. Мащабът на това въздействие ще бъде обсъден на конференция в комбиниран формат, организирана съвместно от ЕИСК и Мрежата на ООН за решения за устойчиво развитие (SDSN) на 6 декември в Брюксел.
Целта на Европейския зелен пакт е да се декарбонизира европейската икономика и да се прекъсне връзката между икономическия растеж и използването на ресурси, като същевременно се гарантира, че нито един човек или място няма да бъдат изоставени. Чрез промишлената трансформация на собствения си пазар Европа иска да бъде пример за останалите глобални участници.
Отношенията на ЕС с останалата част от света неизбежно ще бъдат засегнати от използването на екологосъобразни енергийни източници, включително въвеждането на механизма за корекция на въглеродните емисии на границите, както и от по-екологосъобразните търговски споразумения от ново поколение, предстоящата революция в транспортния сектор и новите предизвикателства и възможности в областта на заетостта.
Оратори от ЕС, Мрежата на ООН за решения за устойчиво развитие (SDSN), Междуправителствения комитет на ООН по изменение на климата (IPCC) и различни други правителствени и неправителствени организации ще обсъдят тези революционни процеси.
Конференцията ще бъде закрита със заключителни изказвания на председателя на ЕИСК Криста Швенг, председателя на секция „Външни отношения“ Димитрис Димитриадис и други високопоставени членове на ЕИСК.
