6th Preparatory meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Consultative Committee

The EU-Chile Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) held its sixth preparatory meeting in the new mandate on 7 December 2020, one week after the successful visit of Foreign Affairs Minister Andrés Allamand Zavalala in Brussels.

The members of the JCC reiterate the need for more information on the modernisation of the Association Agreement and to be able to have a dialogue with the authorities on the issues that most affect civil society, as expressed in the Joint Declaration of 15 May 2010. On the proposals to strengthen the role of the Joint Consultative Committee: "They reiterate their request to preserve the EU-Chile Joint Consultative Committee in the future modernised Agreement, so that the JCC can express its views on any subject covered by the Agreement, including the trade chapter.
