The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Portugalijai perimant vadovavimą ES ir socialinę darbotvarkę įrašant į prioritetų sąrašą, EESRK rengia Portugalijos menininkės Marios Reis Rocha virtualią parodą, skirtą pagerbti žmonių ryšius ir solidarumą.
Parodoje Hand in Hand („Ranka rankon“) eksponuojama keletas Marios Reis Rocha (https://www.mariareisrocha.com/) iliustracijų ir trumpų vaizdo siužetų, sukurtų itin aktualiomis socialinėmis temomis, pavyzdžiui, apie psichikos sveikatą, socialinį dalyvavimą ir pertvarką, kokybišką švietimą, visuotinę prieigą prie sveikatos priežiūros, kovą su skurdu ir rasizmą bei vaikų teises.
Šios temos labai susijusios su 2021 m. sausio 1 d. pirmininkavimą ES Tarybai perimančios Portugalijos prioritetais (atspari Europa, socialinė Europa, žalioji Europa, skaitmeninė Europa ir globali Europa).
