The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

На 11 февруари Европейският икономически и социален комитет (ЕИСК) обяви началото на периода за представяне на кандидатури за четвъртото издание на наградите на ЕС за биологично производство, който ще продължи до 27 април 2025 г.
С тези награди се отличават високите постижения във веригата за създаване на стойност в биологичното производство, като се признава изключителният принос в категории като най-добър земеделски стопанин, занимаващ се с биологично земеделие, най-добър град в областта на биологичното производство, най-добър регион в областта на биологичното производство, най-добро МСП за преработка на биологични храни, най-добър търговец на дребно на биологични продукти, най-добър ресторант/ресторантьорски услуги в областта на биологичните храни. ЕИСК отговаря по-конкретно за три категории:
Победителите ще бъдат обявени в Деня на биологичното производство на ЕС, 23 септември 2023 г. Заинтересованите страни в областта на биологичното производство, включително земеделските стопани, преработвателите, търговците на дребно и публичните органи, се насърчават да кандидатстват.
