The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in Europe.

The EESC issues between 160 and 190 opinions, evaluation and information reports a year.
It also organises several annual initiatives and events with a focus on civil society and citizens’ participation such as the Civil Society Prize, the Civil Society Days, the Your Europe, Your Say youth plenary and the ECI Day.

The EESC brings together representatives from all areas of organised civil society, who give their independent advice on EU policies and legislation. The EESC's326 Members are organised into three groups: Employers, Workers and Various Interests.

Február 11-én az Európai Gazdasági és Szociális Bizottság (EGSZB) bejelentette, hogy, immár negyedik alkalommal, megnyílt a jelentkezési lehetőség az uniós ökológiai díjakra, amelyekre 2025. április 27-ig nyújthatók be a pályázatok.
Ezek a díjak az ökológiai értékláncban elért kiváló teljesítményt díjazzák, és olyan kategóriákban ismerik el a kiemelkedő eredményeket, mint a legjobb ökológiai termelő, város és régió, a legjobb bioélelmiszer-feldolgozó kkv, a legjobb bioélelmiszer-kiskereskedő és a legjobb bioétterem/vendéglátóipari szolgáltató. Az EGSZB a következő három kategóriáért felelős:
A nyerteseket 2025. szeptember 23-án (uniós ökológiai nap) hirdetik ki. Pályázásra buzdítjuk az ökológiai termelésben érdekelt feleket – köztük a mezőgazdasági termelőket, a feldolgozókat, a kiskereskedőket és a hatóságokat.

Ez a kezdeményezés támogatja az ökológiai termelést és a fogyasztói tudatosságot előmozdító uniós ökológiai cselekvési tervet. (ks)
