Roma children and young people in public education: assessing the situation and the way forward

The EESC's Thematic study group on the inclusion of the Roma is organising a remote public hearing on 5 April 2022. Whilst some progress has been registered in education, more work is clearly needed to achieve the new Roma framework's objective of increasing effective equal access to quality inclusive mainstream education. The aim of the hearing is to discuss the situation of Roma children and young people in public education, particularly in view of the pandemic as well as segregation in education. It will also discuss measures on how to increase Roma participation in education and contribute to the debate around the European Year of Youth.

Your participation and input are most welcome!
