The 9th meeting of the EU Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) under the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and the first meeting of the 2025–2028 term, took place on 16 December 2025 at the EESC.
The eighth meeting of the EU Domestic Advisory Group was held on 5 March 2025.
During the meeting, the EU DAG received an update from the European Commission's DG TRADE on the implementation of the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, as well as information on the signature and conclusion of the EU-Singapore Digital Trade Agreement. In addition, DAG members received updates on the EU-Singapore relations from the EU Delegation to Singapore. The main objective of the meeting was to prepare the European side for the upcoming joint meeting with the Singapore DAG.
The seventh meeting of the EU Domestic Advisory Group was held on 11 November 2024. During the meeting, the EU DAG received an update from the European Commission's DG TRADE on the implementation of the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, as well as information on the EU-Singapore Digital Trade Agreement. The EU DAG members also exchanged views on EU-Singapore relations and recent developments in Singapore with Ambassador Lim, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Singapore to the European Union. An important feature of the meeting was the presentation on the labour rights situation in Singapore given by the ILO representative. One of the objectives of the meeting was to prepare the European side for the upcoming joint meeting with the Singapore DAG.
The 4th annual All DAGs meeting took place on Monday 18 April 2024 09:00-13:00 at the EESC premises in JDE62. This was the first All DAGs meeting of this DAG mandate which welcomed the newer DAG Members, as well as more experienced ones. It was a unique opportunity to gather all EU DAG Members and EU institutions as one TSD community, to openly exchange ideas, challenges, and aspirations. The meeting featured, among others, CTEO Denis Redonnet and DDG Maria Martin-Prat, DG Trade.
The 3rd annual All DAGs meeting will take place in a hybrid format on Monday 17 April 2023 09:30-12:30 in JDE62 (and via Interactio).
As the Domestic Advisory Groups (DAGs) are approaching the end of the current mandate, the objective of the event is to take stock of past challenges and achievements, including preliminary results for some of the DAGs' desk studies and also give the opportunity to do benchmarking in preparation for the next DAG mandates. This strategic time of feedback and preparation will include presentations by the EU DAG chairs and discussions between all EU DAG members.
The 3rd Joint Meeting of the Domestic Advisory Groups (DAGs) under the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement featured updates on the activities of the Singapore and EU DAGs since the December 2021 meeting, as well as a topical discussion on EU-Singapore trade prospects in the current geopolitical landscape.
On 8 March 2023, the fifth meeting of the EU Domestic Advisory Group was held in a hybrid format. One of the objectives of the meeting was to prepare the European side for the upcoming joint meeting with the Singapore DAG.
The 2nd meeting of the All DAGs (Domestic Advisory Groups) takes place on 12 July 10 a.m. in a Hybrid format at the EESC premises (room JDE52). This is very timely following the recent adoption of the European Commission Communication on the Trade and Sustainable Development Review (TSD). This meeting will look at the state of play and future of the Domestic Advisory Groups (DAGs) under the EU Free Trade Agreements, as well as the important role of trade and sustainability in promoting fair and inclusive growth worldwide and resilient supply chains.
A DAG-to-DAG is a joint civil society body between the partner countries of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), bringing together the separate DAGs of each party. This is the 2nd joint meeting of the EU and Singapore DAGs under the EU-Singapore FTA.
This meeting took place ahead of a possible joint meeting with the Singaporeans counterparts that might be organised by the end of this year. It also gave the EU DAG the opportunity to receive an update from DG Trade on the implementation of the TSD chapter as well as an overview of the current trade relations between the EU and Singapore.
This meeting was an excellent opportunity for a DG Trade timely update on the implementation of the Trade and Sustainable Development Chapter under the FTA, reinforcing the EU DAG commitment to support it.
The EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA) envisages that DAG members of each Party will meet together at a Civil Society Forum to conduct a dialogue encompassing sustainable development aspects of trade relations between the Parties. The Civil Society Forum meets once a year unless otherwise agreed by the Parties, with the venue alternating between Brussels and Singapore.

Implementation of the TSD Chapter within the EU-Singapore FTA and the contribution by the economic, social and environmental civil society actors to its monitoring

In this first workshop that gathers together the members of the EU DAG and Singapore DAG the focus will be on the consultation of civil society in the context of policy and legislation development and implementation, including in the context of trade policy, trade agreements and Trade and Sustainable Development chapters.
During the meeting on 18 November 2020 the EU DAG members will discuss the work programme for the first mandate, agree on the working methods as well as elect the chair and two vice-chairs.
