Sandra Parthie

President of the Employers' Group, Germany

Sandra Parthie is the President of the Employers' Group of the European Economic and Social Committee. She will start her mandate in October 2025. She joined the EESC in 2020, and has been active in many EESC bodies, particularly as President of the section on the single market (INT) since 2022.  

Mrs Parthie heads the Brussels Office of the German Economic Institute since March 2015, presenting economic research by the Institute to stakeholders in Brussels, often in cooperation with industry associations.  

Before her current role, she was Director for EU Regulatory Affairs at French multinational company Alstom S.A. with a focus on renewable energies and grid technology. Prior to that she was the political advisor and head of office of a German Member of the European Parliament, working mainly on environmental and climate policy. 

Sandra Parthie holds an MA in Political Sciences, with a minor in economics from the Freie Universität Berlin. She also conducted part of her studies at the Université de Montréal in Canada.  

The European Economic and Social Committee is the institutional consultative body established by the 1957 Treaty of Rome. The Committee has 350 members from across Europe, who are appointed by the Council of the European Union. It represents the various economic and social components of organised civil society. Its consultative role enables its members, and hence the organisations they represent, to participate in the EU decision-making process.
