Is céim ríthábhachtach í Straitéis nua an Aontais Eorpaigh maidir le hoiriúnú don athrú aeráide chun aeráidneodracht agus athléimneacht in aghaidh an athraithe aeráide a bhaint amach faoi 2050. Tacaíonn sochaí shibhialta na hEorpa go láidir le tiomantas an Choimisiúin iarrachtaí a neartú maidir leis an díonadh ar an athrú aeráide, an fhorbairt athléimneachta, an chosaint agus an ullmhacht.
Sa tuairim uaidh a bhaineann leis an straitéis nua a glacadh ag seisiún iomlánach mhí Iúil, chuir CESE i bhfios go láidir go bhfuil oiriúnú atá dírithe ar an gcothromas ríthábhachtach chun saol agus slite beatha shaoránaigh na hEorpa a chosaint, go háirithe i gcás na saoránach is leochailí, ionas nach bhfágfar aon duine ar lár.
Dá bhrí sin, cuireann CESE i bhfios go láidir an gá atá ann go gcuirfí béim chomhionann ar mhaolú agus oiriúnú a mhaoiniú, mar aon le treoirlínte oiriúnaithe sonracha, uirlisí faireacháin, tagarmharcanna agus táscairí. Chuideodh na huirlisí sin le trédhearcacht a sholáthar, le measúnú a dhéanamh ar dhul chun cinn an oiriúnaithe aeráide, agus leis an acmhainneacht áitiúil, náisiúnta agus réigiúnach a fhothú.
Is éard atá sa bhithgheilleagar agus san aistriú go dtí geilleagar ciorclach cineálacha cur chuige ríthábhachtacha agus nithiúla maidir leis an oiriúnú don athrú aeráide tráth atá an Eoraip i mbun téarnaimh.
‘Ní mór don Aontas an cineál nuálaíochta, infheistíochta agus trádála a chuireann feabhas ar an bhforbairt inbhuanaithe a chur chun cinn tuilleadh agus béim níos mó a leagan ar thábhacht na ngnéithe sin. Dá bhrí sin, ní mór an t-oiriúnú don athrú aeráide agus na costais a ghabhann leis a bheith mar chuid lárnach de straitéis tionsclaíochta an Aontais’, arsa Dimitris Dimitriadis, rapóirtéir na tuairime seo ó CESE.
Chun go dtiocfaidh an tAontas chun cinn mar cheannródaí domhanda i réimse an airgeadais inbhuanaithe, ní mór don Choimisiún ardchaighdeán a leagan síos agus prionsabail atá bunaithe ar an eolaíocht agus atá neodrach ó thaobh na teicneolaíochta de a leanúint, lena n-áirítear maidir le tacsanomaíocht an Aontais.
