High level Conference: The Future of the European battery Industry

On Thursday 11 June 2026, the Consultative Commission on Industrial Change (CCMI) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is holding a high-level conference under the theme: "The future of the European battery industry" in the context of the Battery Booster Strategy adopted by the European Commission.
The discussion will focus on two priorities:
- Assessing the challenges and opportunities facing the European battery ecosystem
- including the emergence of sodium technologies; and second, identifying concrete actions to scale up manufacturing capacity, mobilise investment and build a competitive, circular and autonomous battery value chain in Europe
