How to address the loss of purchasing power and the risk of rising inequalities, exclusion and marginalization
Driven by the lingering impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, a cost-of-living crisis is weighing heavily on citizens' lives across the EU. Its impact is felt hardest by vulnerable groups, accentuating pre-existing inequalities.
To prepare its own-initiative opinion on "How to address the loss of purchasing power and the risk of rising inequalities, exclusion and marginalization" the EESC is organising a hybrid public hearing on 20 February 2025 from 9:30 am to 1 pm.
The event will gather representatives from the EU and International organisations, social partners and experts. Its output will feed into the EESC's opinion.
